The Community First Choice Technical Assistance Project
The Community First Choice Technical Assistance Project (CFC-TAP) is a project funded by the New York State Health Foundation for a two year period to provide policy analysis and technical assistance to the State, health plans, and providers regarding CFC implementation. NYAIL is working in collaboration with the Center for Disability Rights (CDR) on the project. NYAIL and CDR have led advocacy and education efforts nationally and in New York that resulted in the State committing to implement CFC.
There are many key decisions that must be made regarding the CFC program model, and implementation must be considered within the context of Medicaid Redesign Team and other care management and health reform initiatives underway. CFC-TAP is intended to analyze the State’s current and planned service systems and identify the ways CFC impacts all systems. Our main objective is to provide expertise and guidance to ensure that implementation results in the most expansive increase of access to home and community-based services for New Yorkers with disabilities of all ages.
